1. What is Reiki? How we can get healed from this energy?

Reiki is a form of alternative therapy that originated in Japan in the late 19th or early 20th century. It is based on the belief that a practitioner can channel healing energy into a patient through touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient’s body and restore physical and emotional well-being.

The word “Reiki” is derived from two Japanese words: “rei,” which means universal or spiritual, and “ki,” which means life force energy. Reiki practitioners believe that this life force energy flows through all living beings and is what keeps them alive and healthy. When this energy is low or blocked, it can lead to physical or emotional illness, and Reiki is intended to help restore balance and harmony to the energy flow.

During a Reiki session, the practitioner places their hands lightly on or just above the patient’s body, in various positions corresponding to the body’s energy centers or chakras. The practitioner then channels Reiki energy through their hands to the patient, allowing it to flow where it is needed most.

Reiki is often used as a complementary therapy alongside conventional medical treatment, although some people use it as a standalone treatment for various ailments. Its effectiveness is still a subject of debate within the medical community, but many people report feeling relaxed and experiencing reduced stress and pain after Reiki sessions.

2. Who is Master Mikao Usui Reiki?

Mikao Usui is considered the founder of the Reiki system as it’s commonly practiced today. He was a Japanese Buddhist and Tendai priest who lived in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Usui’s system of Reiki, often referred to as Usui Reiki or Usui Shiki Ryoho, is the foundation upon which many modern Reiki practices are based.

Usui is said to have developed Reiki after a spiritual experience on Mount Kurama, a sacred mountain in Japan, where he underwent a profound spiritual awakening. Following this experience, he developed a healing system based on the channeling of universal life force energy (Reiki) to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual healing.

Usui taught Reiki to numerous students, including Chujiro Hayashi, who further developed the system and passed it on to Hawayo Takata, a Japanese-American woman who introduced Reiki to the Western world in the mid-20th century.

The teachings of Mikao Usui emphasize principles such as personal development, self-healing, and spiritual growth, in addition to the hands-on healing techniques. Today, various lineages and schools of Reiki exist, but they all trace their roots back to Usui’s original teachings and the system he developed.

Mikao Usui: The Founder of Reiki

Mikao Usui was a Japanese Buddhist and Tendai priest who lived in the 19th and early 20th centuries. He is widely regarded as the founder of the Reiki system as it’s practiced today. Usui’s life and teachings are shrouded in some mystery and legend, but his contributions to holistic healing and spiritual development are significant.

Mikao Usui was born on August 15, 1865, in the village of Taniai, in present-day Miyama Town, in the Yamagata district of Gifu Prefecture, Japan. He came from a Samurai family and received a good education, studying various subjects including medicine, psychology, theology, and the healing arts.

Discovery of Reiki

Usui’s journey into the development of Reiki began with a quest for spiritual enlightenment and healing. Legend has it that Usui embarked on a 21-day retreat on Mount Kurama, a sacred mountain in Japan. During this time, he underwent a profound spiritual experience, described as a satori or awakening.

It was during this intense period of introspection that Usui experienced a profound spiritual awakening. According to the story, he was struck by a powerful beam of light, which infused him with divine healing energy, known as Reiki. This experience not only endowed him with the ability to heal but also provided him with the knowledge and wisdom to teach others how to access and utilize this healing energy.
